Gender Identity & Expression

Green Mountain Camp takes a gender expansive view.  All programming for *girls* is open to trans, non-binary, or cis girl identified youth. We have mirrored our 'policies' around camper admission and gender identification on those of prominent women's colleges in the U.S.

We are also aware that language is dynamic and ever-evolving.  Please don’t hesitate to let us know of any questions.

FAQs:

Are transgender girls eligible to attend Girls Camp?

GMC is dedicated to empowering girls to be their best selves and live in their truth.   Applicants who were assigned male at birth but identify as girls are welcome at Green Mt. Camp.

Are applicants who identify as nonbinary or genderqueer eligible for admission?

Our focus on empowering girls means that we invite and welcome campers who identify as girls and/or who seek entrance into a community dedicated to building confidence in girls. We also recognize that traditional notions of gender expression and identity can be limiting.

What if a camper identifies as a girl when they start GMC and it changes?

Once part of the GMC community—regardless of gender identity or gender expression—you are always enthusiastically welcome at Green Mt. Camp.
